Please explain the science

Yesterday I posted about how upset I was that my weight loss seems to stall when I work out... I worked out all last week, and really how it makes me feel, but like I said I either gain a few ounces or stay at the same weight week after week... If I do not work out I loose almost a pound a day... I'm eating a bit more on workouts days, but taking the advice to stay @ 1500 every day no matter if I work out or not... Bit can anyone help me on the science part of it? Is it water weight that I'm loosing? And water weight that I hold onto when I work out? I have to admit that I like seeing the numbers drop, since I'm trying to get to a healthy BMI number.... I just can not figure out why I loose so much when I'm not working out, if anyone could explain it all to me my brain would be much relieved! Stats-5'3, 42 yo female, 181.7 as of this morning....lost 41.7 pounds since March through diet & excersize...45 more to go...thanks so much!

Please Help me!!!!! Anorexia recovery Advice!

Okay, I'll start with my stats. I'm 13, 157cm and I weigh around 37kg. Before my anorexia I weighed around 45kg and was probably 155cm tall. I started having issues with my body just after I got my first period. At first I didn't know much, so I didn't loose weight very fast and I still got my period two more times. So I researched more and learnt about calories and I starting restricting to 900 calories a day. As I began this I got my last period (in January) but it was light and lasted 7 days (not normal). Next, in March I decided to become vegetarian. I don't regret this decision even if it was partially made by my ED. Then people started realising my weight loss so I have tried to eat more. The problem is that I still want to be healthy! I have trouble eating more then 1000calories and I still get guilty and anxious if I exceed 1200 calories. I'm not really loosing weight anymore even though my calories are so low and I don't really want to gain weight either. The problem is that I want to get my period back! Also, my doctor said that my growth plates have almost closed so in almost finished growing. But I don't have a woman's body and I don't see how I could while being so short! Also, I really ENJOY counting calories and I don't know what to do!

Please analyze my diet

My Stats

30 yr old, female, 5 ft tall, 238 lbs,

A few years ago I saw a dietician & was told to keep my calories at 1000 due to fact I am in a wheelchair because of Spina Bifida.  I am having an EXTREMELY hard time keeping to this.  However, my insurance will no longer cover meetings with a dietician.

My current diet runs around 1113 according to the log here on calorie count.  So what foods should I take away or switch with something else?

Breakfast #1

Protein Milk - 1 scoop Protein Powder, 1 c Unsweetened Almond Milk, 2 TBSP PB2

1 Fruit - Guava, Papaya, Pear, Apple, Orange, Grapefruit OR I have something I have never had before like Starfruit

Breakfast #2 (after 1st workout)

Dannon Light & Fit Pineapple Yogurt w/ 1 TBSP Sunflower Seeds & 1 c Blackberries

Lunch

Taco Salad - 2 oz Taco Meat, Romaine Lettuce, Red Bell Pepper, 2 TBSP Salsa

Snack - 1 Pickle or 1 Cucumber (if I need to snack after 2nd workout)

Supper - 2 c Non-Starchy Veggie Medley & 3 oz Protein (lean beef or baked chicken breast)

Dessert - 2 c Watermelon & 12 Almonds

I drink mostly iced tea w/ a lime wedge, sparkling water, black coffee or water w/ lemon.

Workouts (all upper body workouts at my local YMCA)

1st - Opposite Days - 20 min Weight Machines or 15 min Arm Bike Intervals

2nd - 30 min Arm Bike & 30 min Swim

Please help

Hi,

I'm 16 (nearly 17) and have suffered from anorexia for nearly 2 years now. It has stolen my life and has caused me major depression - I attempted suicide 4 times since I was officially diagnosed. My lowest weight was 42.8kg at 160cm (BMI was 16.7ish) a few months ago but I've never been ill enough for my CBT therapist to refer me to inpatient or hospitalise me. I increased my intake from about 100 calories at my worst to 1800-2200 calories most recently and my weight has stabilised at around 44.3kg.

The thing is, I don't know how many calories to eat per day. People advise 3000 calories for teens, but I don't feel like this rule applies to me because I've never been seriously ill or hospitalised. I don't know how much to eat or what sort of meal plan to follow... I just want some advice.

At the moment I eat:

Breakfast: 30g oats made with 100ml ss milk topped up with water
Lunch: Anything with 340 calories maximum
Snacks: x5 130 calories choc ices (not healthy I know, but I recently had oral surgery then braces fitted and I practically lived off them - now it's become kind of fixed in my 'plan' :/ )
Dinner: Whatever my mum makes (pizza/chicken and tomato basil pasta bake/beef and noodle stir fry) then a yoghurt and 3 squares of dairy milk chocolate

I can't deal with this problem anymore, it has taken so much from me but I don't feel like I have the mental or physical strength to do this anymore. I've spoken to my CBT therapist about this but she doesn't have much useful advice... At one point I begged her to admit me to inpatient but she said no as my BMI has to be 14 at most.

I don't know what to do, I'm at my wits' end. Someone please tell me how many calories to eat and give me a meal plan, please? Help me :(

Thank you for your time

Am I anorexic? Please help me..

Hello everyone.. I've been reading the posts in the forums for quite a while now and finally decided that i should really write a post about my problem.

So.. To start off I'm 5 ft (154 cm ??) tall, weigh 88 lbs, Asian, and i have a small-medium frame. My waist is 21-22 inches, hips are 26 i think.

It was the end of January when i started to diet. Back then, I weighed around 97-99 lbs, which was normal for my height and frame. I went on a 1200-calories per day diet while eating healthfully. However, some weeks I would be around 1100-1200 calories average. I didnt do much exercise, but i think i walked around 10-30 minutes each day. In a week, i would eat 800-900 calories on around 2 or 3 days so i can eat more on other days. I started to lose weight, and by March, I weighed 90 lbs. So, it took me 2 months to lose around 8 lbs. But.. It wasn't enough. I restricted my calorie intake to 1150 cals per day, with the normal 2 days of 800 calories. That month, I noticed that my period didn't come despite being very regular for 2 years. I was a bit worried but wasnt really concerned, thinking that it would return soon. In April, I ate 1200 calories per day on average and continued losing to 88 lbs, which is what I weigh now. I was quite happy and decided to "maintain" my weight after seeing that number. My mom noticed my thinness and became worried, saying that im skin and bones. But i dont see that. Yes, i can see my spine clearly, my ribcage (not that prominent), my hip bones, and my chest bones. But, i think im not that skinny. I like my figure, and i even think i should lose more. I bumped up my calorie intake to 1350 calories becuase when entered my stats on a daily requirement calculator, it said 1375 to maintain my 88 lb weight (i think im sedentary - i sit the majority of the day). Being scared to gain more weight, i added exercise in May. One hour on the elliptical, 5-6 times a week, low intensity and low speed.

Oh, i forgot to mention.. My period didnt come in April as well. With 2 months of my missing period, i searched about it a little and ate a little more (never passing 1400 cals average). I thought that would do the trick, but no it didnt. My period wasn't present in May. And that concludes as 3 months of missed period.. Amenorrhea. I became extremely worried for the past week and did a ton of research. During my research, i found out about my possibility of being anorexic, but i dont know.

Onto my eating habits.. I like eating alone. It feels secure, like i can eat anything i want without anyone questioning me why i eat like that. When i have to go out somewhere, i would plan my meals and eat very few calories for breakfast and lunch so that i can indulge in dinner and show people that im eating like a normal person.

This is why i posted on this forum. I want to know if im anorexic or not because from what i read, most anorexics dont realize their problems due to their minds and distorted body image.. Im also very scared of my lost period. I want it back. I really really want it back. Ive added more fats (60-70 grams now) to my diet but i wasnt low fat at the first place. Maybe when i was dieting 2 months ago when i would have no more than 25 grams of fat per day..?

I dont want to go to the doctor just yet because my mom would be super stressed and i dont wanna take pills as well..

Please, please help me.. I really want to get my period back :(

Will i need to gain alot of weight? I dont want to be fatter at all.. But im okay with filling my bony spaces.

Im sorry that this is a long post, but i really hope that someone would help me :(

Trying... again... Please help!

I am 24 years old I used to be very athletic in high school but gained A LOT of weight since graduating.  I am 5'10 and when I graduated high school I was about 180 lbs healthy with some muscle.  Now I am 250 lbs, that is 70 lbs in 6 years.. At this rate I am going to be 300 lbs by time I am 30.  I do not want that, I am a Law Enforcement major and I need to be healthier for my career.  My problem is my eating habits, my eating portions and my motivation to work out.. so basically everything.  I have a beautiful fiance who is in very good shape and supports me as much as she can and vows that she will love me no matter what but I really want to get back into shape for her as well.  I am looking for cheap healthy easy to make meals and maybe some work out ideas to slowly ease back into being athletic again.  I am hoping my natural athleticism helps to get back into shape but I fear I am too far gone, I have tried before but I just didn't have the mental toughness to keep going.  Please help..

Please help!!

hey everyone I need some input REALLY bad. ok so I was off work for a while, sat around and was really lazy only walking and basic needs. I ate 2200 calories and I never gained weight. I now have been working midnights at a grocery store. I carry lots of heavy boxes and our night crew is waay understaffed  so we all work super fast and even run around alot. I weighed my self last week and I was 110 pounds. I have not been on the scale since I started work so dont really know if I lost weight. I weighed myself today and was 108 pounds. does that mean I burned 7000 extra calories last week? and does that mean I need to eat 1000 more calories a day just to maintain. oh and my stats are male, 110 pounds, 5'5, and 20 years old. I REALLY need to know if i should be eating more and how much more? please help!
