Wagon Jumpers June 2nd - 8th
This thread is designed to encourage long term commitment to our goals by publicly declaring them and asking the other members of this thread to hold us accountable. The primary focus of Wagon Jumpers is not how much weight you have lost, or need to lose, but what you need to do on a daily basis to meet your long term goals.
The idea of Wagon Jumpers was to create a close community where participants could get to know each other, creating a virtual support network as they attempt long term weight management.
This is impossible with an 'always open' group as there would be too many people coming and going. For this reason we have capped group membership numbers to 20 participants.
** If you would like to be a member of this group please contact our wait list manager: the_dragon
There are two rules for Wagon Jumpers:
1. All members must post once per week between Monday and Sunday.
2. All members must check the thread for members who have not posted by Saturday (a short list is posted at the end of the week) or are on the MIA list on Sunday and send them a polite and positive message to stay involved in the group and on track with their goals.

You know nature didn't make the colors of those candy-hued foods. Skip 'em and this other...stuff.
Sodium or Potassium Benzoate: Found in baked goods, they may break down into a carcinogen.Potassium Bromate: A flour additive banned in Europe and Canada for carcinogenic properties.Phosphate: It lurks in frozen food and soda. HIgh amounts may mess with pH and lead to calcium loss from your bones.Partially Hydrogenated Oil: You know it as trans fat. Found in some spreads, it clogs circulation.Source: Susan Blum, M.D., assistant clinical professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Department of Preventive Medicine

New Line We Love: Orico London
It's super rare that I find a line that fits the crazy-high standards I like to hold for my organic products. Not only do they need to be recyclable, eco-cert and cruetly free, but also should not smell like hippies (sorry, Rachel) and quite obviously be cool, too. So when I do find something that fits all those crazy standards and is amazeballs to boot, I'm really impressed.
So, right now I'm really impressed! Orico London is a relatively new line of organic products for face, body and baby, designed to combat the skin stressors associated with city living: pollution, stress, air-conditioning and heating. [Ed. note: Sounds like this was made for me. - RJ] And, while the line is humungo (not to mention chock full of all sorts of skin-nourishing antioxidants), there are three products in there that I've fallen in love with -- and you will too.
Pure Uplift Firming Face Elixir, $49: This super-light serum literally makes my skin feel firmer in seconds. Plus, it's got glycerin, which smooths those annoying fine lines I'm starting to get while blocking all aforementioned environmental stressors. Did I mention it absorbs instantly? Amazing; now I can layer my SPF lotion on top without waiting like I usually do.
Rush Hour Vibrant Dry Body Oil, $40: The first dry body oil I've ever tried that actually feels dry. This sh*t is legit. I pumped a ton on my skin, rubbed it in (not even very well), and threw on my favorite VINCE silk shirt without thinking (and then, of course, proceeded to have a heart attack). And, lucky me, my shirt didn't get stained like it would have with most other oils.
Little Love Protecting Baby Skin Balm, $24. This tube has not been more than two feet away from me since I got it. The formula has neroli, shea butter and sunflower oils to help soothe skin from head to toe -- especially designed for the little ones, though. It's not greasy. It's not sticky. It's just gone and my skin is left baby soft. I'm gonna start hoarding their baby products, so if they're sold out, you guys know why.

Body fat percentage
Hi, I just got a screening done to know what my weight distribution is and it turns out I have a too high body fat percentage...
What's weird is that to compensate it's not the muscle that's slightly less than average but instead it's the blood cells percentage!
This is so weird, even my doctor didn't know why that was but it's not such a great difference from normal so she said not to worry... I'm still curious though, so do any of you have an idea of what happened?
And also, how do I get rid of body fat without losing weight??
Superfood of the Week: Sweet Potatoes
From sweet tater fries to sweet potato burritos, you're sure to find trendy superfood sweet potatoes popping up on restaurant menus -- and in home kitchens(!) -- everywhere. And it's no surprise: In addition to adding texture, nutrition, flavor and a pop of color to any dish, one medium sweet potato has a mere 105 calories and four grams of filling fiber. Plus, one of these spuds provides a whopping 400% of your daily value of Vitamin A to boost your eye health and immunity. Now that's a nutritional powerhouse. Here are four fab sweet potato recipes to jumpstart your week.
Whole-Wheat Sweet Potato Pancakes: With hearty whole-wheat flour and yummy spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, this all-star Food Network recipe is perfect for a lazy weekend morning brunch. Unlike the traditional white-flour pancakes, these healthy whole-wheat hotcakes are loaded with fiber to curb your mid-afternoon hunger pangs. Enjoy them with a drizzle of pure maple syrup and a sprinkling of toasted pecans for added texture.Sweet Tater Black Bean Burgers: It's time to take your veggie burger to another level. This recipe is the king of healthy bean burgers, bursting at the seams with superfoods like sweet potato, quinoa, oats and sunflower seeds. Layer it up with creamy avocado, roasted red peppers or juicy tomatoes-- and place on a toasted whole-wheat bun. This meal wouldn't be complete without--you guessed it...sweet potato fries.Sweet Potato Pie Smoothie: This guilt-free, creamy smoothie tastes like indulgent sweet potato pie in a glass. The best part is that you can totally "cheat" and use canned sweet potato puree for this one (or just whiz up some leftover cooked sweet potato in the blender to make your own). Simply combine in a blender one cup of sweet potato puree, one overripe frozen banana, 1 cup of skim milk, 1 tsp of vanilla extract and 1 tsp of pumpkin pie spice. Blend until smooth and top with a dash of cinnamon and a few walnuts. Roasted Sweet Potato and Black Bean Salad: This super satisfying meatless meal spotlights sweet potatoes and black beans, a nutrient-rich pairing. The zesty lime dressing perfectly complements the fresh flavors of the bell peppers, scallions, tomatoes and mint.RELATED LINKS:
