Celeb Move to Steal: Ashley Tisdale's Butt and Back Firmer

Actress and singer Ashley Tisdale is so sweet and buzzing with energy, she just about charmed the pants off us when she dropped by the SELF offices last week. And seriously, don't even get us started on how straight-up smokin' her body looks. We've gawked over enough pics to confirm: YES, whether she's on the beach or a red carpet, we'll do what it takes to earn that bod!

These days, Tisdale -- whose new film, Scary Movie 5, just hit theaters -- entrusts her physique to star trainer Harley Pasternak. "She's such a natural athlete!" he says. "She's always smiling and isn't afraid to work hard."

One move in their routine that helps keeps the actress so fit and sexy? "I love doing Supermans, because it keeps my back strong," says Tisdale. This awesome no-equipment needed exercise also works the glutes and "is incredible for posture--it lengthens the front of the midsection," adds Pasternak.

'Nuff said, we'll dig up our red capes and start knocking out these Supermans. Tisdale's Superwoman body to lead the way!

THE MOVE: SUPERMAN

Superman Step 1

Lie facedown on the floor, legs together and straight, arms straight and extended above your head. Keep your head/neck in a neutral position.

Superman Step 2

Simultaneously lift your arms and legs up toward the ceiling to form a gentle curve with your body, with limbs approximately six inches off the ground. Repeat 10 times; hold last lift for 30 seconds for an extra challenge.

Celeb Move to Steal: Get Kimberly Perry's Seriously Toned Triceps

Country crooner Kimberly Perry has got an exciting weekend ahead: She'll get to strut her way down the red carpet at the 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards knowing she and bros Reid and Neil of The Band Perry have earned a pretty-big-deal nomination for Vocal Group of the Year. If we were her, though, we might slow-mo that strut down to a sexy sashay in order to show off how hard she's worked to earn her amazing arms. (Wait, it's not all that guitar strumming?)

You'll never guess her secret weapon -- check out the cute guy behind her on drums, Boone Daughdrill. That's the dude cracking the workout whip on the Perry clan, whether they're in a gym or a green room at a hockey arena. "Kimberly's pretty strong, and she has tons of willpower," he says. "By the end of the workout, she's sweating and calling me choice names!"

To work those triceps, Daughdrill loves prescribing Bench Dips. Exercising that muscle "allows you to have more of a cut arm and takes away from that 'bye-bye wave,'" he says. (Um, you know, when the flab waves back.) No worries; Kimberly's sure to get a big HELLO from the crowd while workin' that stage on Sunday!

Bench Dip / Tricep Dip

Tricep Dip/Bench Dip

Sit on a bench (gym, park or otherwise) or sturdy chair. Place the palms of your hands by your sides and grip the edge of the bench. Slide off the bench and support your weight with your hands. Straighten legs and brace heels against the ground. Lower your body towards the floor a few inches, keeping your elbows back and tucked in. Be sure to never lower your shoulders below the height of your elbow. Push your body back up until your arms are straight. Do 3 sets of 10-15 reps. If you are a beginner, complete the exercise with feet flat on the floor, both legs slightly bent.

Celeb Move to Steal: Beth Behrs' Enviable Arms

As smart-meets-ditzy waitress Caroline Channing on 2 Broke Girls, Beth Behrs pretty much has us in stitches on the regular. (Can we all agree that gut-busting laughter ranks up there as fave 3-second calorie-burner??) We already knew she was a smooth comedienne, but it wasn't until Behrs swung by the SELF offices for a chat that we were struck with a bout of in-real-life jealousy of her ridiculously long, lean figure -- especially those arms. And it's no wonder, considering all the trays she balances while burning the midnight oil playing a waitress on Broke Girls at the Williamsburg Diner.

If there's one thing to know about Behrs, it's that she's a diehard spin class fanatic. "I love SoulCycle. The music is a big part of it for me," she raves. "I like the candlelight and the darkness. It's always easier to exercise when everyone around you is fighting through it together!"

Fabulous L.A.-based SoulCycle instructor Roarke Walker (pictured here) shares a move that keeps the actress's arms in such amazing shape. Part of her body-trimming routine: the Push Up on the bike. "This specific move is great for bathing suit season, as it tones the arms and chest while engaging the abs!" he says.

THE MOVE: Push Up on the Bike

Soul Cycle Pushup

A pushup is incorporated in SoulCycle classes while riders are out of the saddle (seat) pedaling to the beat of the music.

With your arms extended and your hands holding onto the middle bar, engage your core, keeping your hips back over the saddle as you lower your chest down towards the middle bar with control. Then, firing your chest, delts and triceps, push yourself back into your starting position. Repeat this with the beat of the music as you start to find the synchronization with the feet. Start out on the middle bar and then you can walk the hands out further to third position to work another angle of the chest and arms. Keeping the elbows out will target more of the chest while keeping the elbows close to the body will fire more of the triceps and delts.
